Find Your Park, In-Park Signage

The National Park Foundation partners with the National Park Service (NPS) and corporate sponsors to run the Find Your Park campaign, which encourages people to visit smaller national parks near them. Each year all 419+ NPS sites receive a packet of Find Your Park signage containing an assortment of retractable banners, 2 sizes of posters, and rack cards.

My role…

I sourced images of national parks that represented every region in the nation and each type of park. I updated the InDesign files to be more streamlined, along with the linked Photoshop and Illustrator files.

This was my first year at NPF, but the printer who handled this project has being doing it for many years. When I sent them my files I received this kind note: “Well, I just wanted to say they look terrific, and the file formatting on the banner stands was spot on!”

NYC Pride Parade

The National Park Foundation (NPF) celebrated 50 years since the 1969 Stonewall riots with Stonewall National Monument at the 2019 NYC Pride Parade. NPF needed a banner for the bus per the bus rental company’s specifications, along with an assortment of Find Your Park rainbow items to give away and wear in the parade.

My role…

I designed the banner in Illustrator based off of previous Find Your Park campaign ads. I used images from historic archives and current images from a hired photographer. The typeface I used is Gilbert, which is a font tributing Gilbert Baker.

I also designed new promotional items that fit the parade atmosphere: beaded necklaces, t-shirts, and bandanas.
